Carolyn Robinson, 71, passed away on Feb. 28, 2017, surrounded with love and prayers of her family.
Carolyn was born on Dec. 1, 1945 in Alexandria, Louisiana. She graduated from Amarillo High School.
She married her soulmate Thomas Robinson in 1984 and they blended their families together with a total of 10 children. She has sixteen grandchildren, who she loved dearly. She has two sisters, MaryLou Duplantis and Joyce Duffy.
Carolyn was a kind, generous, loving, selfless woman who had a way of making the best out of any situation. She was able to make everyone she met and knew feel at ease, and her kindness and strength were amazing. Family was the most important thing to Carolyn; she taught strong values and the importance of family, faith, hard work, kindness, tolerance, generosity, forgiveness and love. She loved working outside in her rose garden. She loved to cook and while in the kitchen she always had her Elvis music on; she danced as she cooked and taught her children and grandchildren how to dance. As her husband, Tom said, "we danced for 34 years."
She is preceded in death by her parents Charles Longwell and Ruth Bosley, her daughter Elena Sorensen, granddaughter Madison Sorensen, son-in-law Shawn Sorensen, brother Charles Longwell Jr., grandson Jonah Pratt and grandson Tyler Robinson.
She is survived by: her husband, Thomas Robinson, her son Johnny Pratt and wife Laura, son James Pratt, son Jared Pratt and wife Lisa, son Thomas Robinson and wife Cindy, son Michael Robinson, son Randy Robinson, son Rusty Robinson, son Brian Robinson and son Lenny Kelly; Christina and Marc Hyatt and their children Spencer Hyatt and Laney Hyatt; grandchildren, Matthew O'Hare, Ashley Sorensen, Cameron Pratt, Laney Pratt, Brody Pratt, Chloe, Josie Pratt, Jordyn Pratt, John Carmichael-Bruyere, Avril-Jae Pratt, Jacob Pratt, Caleb Robinson, Samantha Robinson, Rachel Robinson, Jonathan Robinson, Bryce Robinson, Tayler Robinson and Mason Robinson; her sisters MaryLou Duplantis and Joyce Duffy and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of her life was held on March 4, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sealy, Texas. President Douglas Bingham served as the officiant. The burial was at San Felipe de Austin Cemetery.
