After putting up just seven points in the first quarter of a season-opening win over Madisonville, the Bellville Brahmas supplied a 26-point first quarter in week two to set the pace in the Pasture of Pain.
Head coach Grady Rowe's offense rarely throws out of the slot-T formation they operate out of but that's how the first touchdown was scored against the visiting Blackcats from Bay City: a 54-yard connection from Jake Lischka to Robert Briggs just over two minutes into the game.
Richard Reese, Kyle Peschel and Quarvante Butler all added rushing touchdowns and although Zach Hood made only one of those extra points, Bellville held a 26-0 lead after 12 minutes of play.
Briggs returned to the end zone for the only touchdown of the second quarter with a 35-yard punt return and Hood's 26-yard field goal served as the only points of the third, sending the 36-0 game to its fourth frame.
Adarrius Courtland got Bay City on the board with a 3-yard rush but Brett Heintschel supplied an 11-yard touchdown run of his own in response, pushing the score to its final resting place at 43-7.
Reese finished as the Brahmas' leading rusher, accruing 114 yards on 12 carries to account for nearly 40% of the hosts' rushing yards.
Bellville takes its 2-0 record on the road this week for the first time in 2019, traveling to the home of the Stafford Spartans who sit 0-2 after 35-7 and 63-14 decisions at the hands of Paetow and Calhoun respectively.
