The Austin County Fair Association (ACFA) is proud to announce that they are joining with the Bellville Turnverein Pavilion Restoration Project for a Fun Family Sunday at the Fairgrounds on Oct. 29.
Previously, the ACFA announced that it would host a Family Fun Day on Sept. 23 following the 5K Stampede and before its annual shrimp boil. After that announcement, the Bellville Turnverein Pavilion Restoration Project approached the Fair about joining together to create an event honoring the history of the Turnverein and dance halls across Texas. Being that 2017 is the 90th Anniversary of the Austin County Fair, the Association was eager to embrace the opportunity to teach locals and visitors from around the country about the event’s history.
Country music legends, Asleep at the Wheel, are part of The Texas Dance Hall Preservation Tour and they will perform at its final dance Oct. 29 at the Turnverein at the Fairgrounds in Bellville. Country music fans wanted to enjoy Asleep at the Wheel and the artists are obliging. They will now perform an additional concert starting at 3 p.m. Oct. 29 with proceeds benefitting the Bellville TPR Project.
