The Blinn College volleyball season came to an end with a hardfought loss to Casper College in the consolation round of the NJCAA Division I Volleyball Championship tournament Thursday in Hutchinson, Kan.

Bellville charges onto the field for their area playoff game with Madisonville last Friday. Bellville defeated Madisonville 67-0 to move on to take on Silsbee this Friday. Bellville Sam Hranicky breaks into open field on a carry against Madisonville.

Last year, the Bellville Brahmas had their promising football season end at the hands of the Madisonville Mustangs 9-3 in the area round of the playoffs. This year, Bellville made sure that was not going to happen again.

Congratulations to Sealy FFA member Ryleigh Gilfoil. This week she has had the privilege to serve as a Texas delegate to the 96th annual National FFA convention in Indianapolis, IN. Ryleigh earned the honor when she was elected Area XI FFA Vice President last spring.

The 2023 season may have just ended but for Sealy Head Football Coach Clint Finley and his staff, the preparation for the 2024 season has already been put in motion. “We were talking about next season on the way home from the game,” Finley said.

Once again, the football “experts” had Silsbee taking a stroll through the park in its bi-district contest with Sealy last Thursday at Randall Reed Stadium in Porter. And once again, someone forgot to inform the Sealy Tigers of those plans.
