With four games left in the district season, the Sealy Lady Tigers are sitting firmly in second place in District 25-4A with a 7-1 record. Sealy still has home contests with Bellville and Needville while road tilts with Navasota and Royal.

Ten goals were put past Rice Consolidated by Sealy at home Jan. 17, in a completely one-sided display.

The Sealy Tigers fell just short in a hard fought 3-2 loss against the International Leadership of Texas Katy Westpark Eagles Jan. 19 at home.

After 15 years as the Sealy Boys head soccer coach, Juan Perez felt that it was time to let a different face take over and help the team turn a new leaf. He would’ve never thought after stepping down two years ago to become the Sealy Girls soccer coordinator, that he’d be back again on the male Tigers’ side to help them out when they needed him most.

Last year can only be described as a disappointment for the Sealy varsity boys’ basketball program. The team ran out to an 11-5 start to the pre-district season and appeared ready to make some noise in District 25-4A.

Last year, the Sealy girls’ basketball team finished in third place in District 25-4A and was able to claim the bi-district title with a 46-40 win over Stafford before falling to Boerne 56-27 in the area round.

The Sealy Lady Tigers have jumped out to a strong start in District 25-4A play and will return to action this Friday in El Campo to take on the Lady Ricebirds. After participating in the Smithville tournament, Sealy returned to district action against Bellville and Navasota and split those two contests.

After starting the district season with a big win over Bellville, the Sealy Tigers have dropped three in a row in District 25-4A action. And while most coaches might be concerned with it, Sealy Head Boys Basketball Coach Austin Kilman said he just wants his players this year to be pleased with how they are playing and how the team is progressing this year.

The Sealy Lady Tigers secured their first piece of silverware this season after edging out the Cypress Park Tigers 1-0 in the Battle of Bernard Tournament Championship game Jan. 13 Sealy came into Saturday’s game against Cypress Park on a hot four game winning streak, having scored 15 goals and conceded only one on route to the final.
