Tears starting to flow on the Sealy sideline following the conclusion of last Friday’s loss to Cuero in the area round of the playoffs. Sealy fell to Cuero 41-18 to conclude a successful season for the Tigers. Both Sealy and Bellville were eliminated from the playoffs last Friday night. Bellville fell to Madisonville 9-3. Austin County remained in the high school playoffs though as Brazos advanced and will take on Tidehaven this Friday at 2 p.m. at Alvin’s Freedom Stadium. Sealy takes down state-ranked Jasper for bi-district title As Sealy prepared for its bi-district playoff contest with Jasper, many football “experts” had the Bulldog rolling to an easy victory over the Tigers. They were proven wrong on a rainy, cold night in Navasota.

Sealy slams La Marque 56-13 to secure playoff berth Scoring more than 50 points for the third straight game, Sealy prepped for the Class 4A playoffs with an easy 56-13 victory over La Marque to clinch the third place seed out of District 10-4A. “I was so proud of the boys and I didn’t expect the outcome to turn out as it did,” said Sealy Head Football Coach Shane Mobley.

Davenport ends Lady Tigers’ volleyball season

The Sealy Lady Tigers volleyball season came to end Friday in Flatonia at the hands of Davenport (36-5) in the area round of the Class 3A playoffs. Davenport swept Sealy 25-15, 25-15 and 25-15 to eliminate the Lady Tigers from the post-season. Sealy finished its season at 26-16. Davenport came into the contest highly regarded after posting an undefeated 12-0 record in District 27-4A and had swept Gonzales in the bi-district round of the playoffs. Sealy had advanced the area round of the playoffs after sweeping Brazosport (9-12) in the bi-district round last Tuesday. The Lady Tigers defeated Brazosport 25-10, 25-14 and 25-22 to advance to the area round of the playoffs.

Sealy Junior Varsity squad captures district title

Last week, the Sealy Tiger football team defeated the La Marque Cougars 33-8 to solidify themselves as the District 10 junior varsity football champions. “This group of boys has worked hard every single day since Aug. 1 to reach this goal. This team faced much adversity throughout the year but showed determination to overcome many bumps along the way,” said Sealy Coach Chase Janczak.
