The Brazos Cougar Powerlifting team competed at the Regional meet with five punching their tickets for the state meet in Abilene. The results of the team members were Sergio Martinez - 2nd place, Hunter Bertrand - 7th place, Carson Grobe – Alternate, Gael Duran – SC, Ryan Meyer – Alternate, Rafael Almaraz - 4th place / Qualifying Total, Gauge McCain - 11th place, Kasey Zientek - 1st place / Regional Champion, Seth Wherry - 6th place / Qualifying Total and Chris Escobedo - 2nd place. 

The Tigers will be facing the Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for Young Men Knights in the first round of playoffs on Tuesday, March 26 after securing a berth following their 5-3 home win against the Hempstead Bobcats on March 8.

The Sealy Lady Tiger Golf Team finished in 3rd place during a tournament last week. The team consists of Kaylie and Kai Dabney, Grace Eschenburg and Carly Allen.

The Brazos Cougarettes hit the rack last Saturday for their Regional Powerlifting Meet in Dublin. They have done a phenomenal job all season competing with numerous individual/ team victories and showing growth throughout the season Brazos junior Lily Bertrand earned a spot in the THSWPA State meet.

The Sealy Floriculture Team placed 5th at HLSR with Alana Lindsay 13th High Individual overall, Brooke Baber 19th High Individual, Cheyenne Schwaller, and Avery Schalla. The team also placed 8th at the Taylor-Katy/Jordan Invitational with Alexa Pavon, Jasmine Sanchez, Mariana Pena, and Elizabeth Guido.

Congrats also to HLSR Market Broiler exhibitors, Tanner Mauney and Cody McNeely. Eryn Kruzel exhibited her Maine Anjou Heifer in a full Class 1 at HLSR. And Kailee Ledger placed 4th in HLSR Class 8 Chianina Heifers.

With a young team that needs to gain experience, the Sealy Tigers participated in the East Bernard baseball tournament last week and came away with strong results in helping the team to grow as district play looms ahead.

Sealy’s midweek disappointment against Royal fueled their thumping against New Waverly last Friday night, smashing their district opponents 5-1 at home. The 11-7-2 Tigers took on the 4-12 Bulldogs at T.J.

In a world where bullying is condoned, Sealy’s girls just can’t seem to stop bullying their opponents, scoring 10 goals in their last two games; a 6-0 home demolition of fierce rivals Royal and a 4-0 home rout of New Waverly. The 18-1 Lady Tigers faced off first against the 12-5-1 Falcons at the T.J.
