Asbestos exposure may still concern Texas veterans

Body
During the 20th century, asbestos was overly used in the U.S. military, as the WWII war effort demanded accessible materials for military equipment production. Asbestos was available in large amounts, and manufacturers wanted to make the most of its broad range of utility and low price, ignoring the health risks of mixing asbestos in products. The Navy capitalized the most on using asbestos, and it put naval personnel at an outstandingly high risk of asbestos exposure. However, this doesn’t exclude other military bases from being a potential source of asbestos contamination.
