The C. Gaylen Ackley Memorial Classic golf tournament benefiting the Bellville Hospital Foundation and Bellville Medical Center will be hosted at Bellville Golf Club on Friday, September 30th. The Bellville Hospital Foundation is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to raise money for the Bellville Medical Center. ACC Chorale seeks singers for 38th season

The Austin County Civic Chorale will begin their 38th season on August 25, 2022. The Chorale is set to have a Christmas dinner concert on December 9, 2022. Faith Academy will be the rehearsal and performance site for this Fall season. An enjoyable potluck supper will kick it off in the Event Center at Faith Academy on August 25th at 6:00 p.m. Rehearsals are every Thursday in Building # 2 of Faith Academy 7:00-8:30 with sectionals at 6:30. The Chorale welcomes interested singers to come see what it is about. No audition is required.

Heavy rainfall threat will increase from north to south over the next 24 hours

Impressive overnight urban flash flood event in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with 9.46 inches of rainfall in 6-hr and 7.8 inches in 3-hr. Significant flash flooding has resulted. A 1-hr storm total of 3.01 inches was recorded at DFW with a storm total of 6.54 inches which wiped out 67% of the sites 2022 rainfall deficit in a few hours.

Knights of Columbus donate proceeds to ACPOA

Designated proceeds from a recent Sealy KC Drive Thru Fish Fry were presented to the Austin County Peace Officers Association. The Sealy Knights of Columbus Co. 3313 appreciate all of the efforts made by all of the various policing agencies serving in our Austin County. Receiving the presentation on the left of the check is Brandon Drake, ACPOA President and an Austin Co. Sheriff Department member, with Sealy KC Grand Knight Robert Kent looking on from second row immediately behind Brandon’s left side. Making the presentation for the Sealy KC’s to the right of the check is Joe Lemos, a Council Trustee. The ACPOA will use the proceeds to fund some of their charitable programs.
