Now, entering peak hurricane season, the Texas Medical Association (TMA) recommends everyone get a copy of their vital personal medical information, including current prescriptions.

Blinn students use artistic talents to support Habitat for Humanity

CONTRIBUTED REPORT Blinn College District graphic design students recently applied their talents to support a good cause. Students enrolled in Blinn’s ARTS 2313: Graphic Design and ARTC 1302: Digital Imaging courses developed logo and T-shirt design options for the Circle of Women, a Bryan Habitat for Humanity chapter dedicated to building quality, affordable homes for families in need.

Please advised that the City of Sealy Health Inspector has inspected the following establishments for food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and sanitary conditions: 1. SONIC DRIVE-IN – 1736 Meyer Street – 8/22/2022 – Ice scoop cannot be in the ice machine, uncovered check stick and chicken tenders in the walk-in cooler, handwashing sink is leaking, walk-in freezer door needs to be fixed, open spaces in the electrical breaker box, boxes containing restaurant inventory must be store 6 inches off the floor. C.O.S SCORE: 86 2. DOLLAR TREE – 1518 Meyer Street – 8/4/2022 – All inventory on the sales floor must be stored 6 inches off the floor, ceiling tiles with stains need to be replaced, inventory in the cooler need to be organized, inventory in the storage room needs to be organized and stored 6 inches off the floor, inventory in the walk-in freezer needs to be stored 6 inches off the floor, extra shelves for store merchandise needs to be stored away from restrooms for safety. A sign must be posted in the restrooms stating “employees must wash their hands before returning to work” – the soda cooler’s front door needs to be clean or removed. No food can be stored in the ice machine. SCORE: 93 3. MESQUITE MEXICAN RESTAURANT – 217 W Front Street – 8/22/2022 – Uncovered items in the kitchen cooler, inventory must be 6” off the floor, kitchen cooler’s front plate must be placed back on the machine, water heater pan required, open spaces in the electrical breaker box. WALMART SUPERCENTER – 310 Overcreek Way – 8/23/2022 – The storage cooler in the deli needs to be repaired or replaced, and dented cans need to be removed. SCORE: 98 6. MURPHY OIL – 216 Schmidt Road -8/23/2022 – Shelves holding inventory must be dusted before inventory is stocked. SCORE: 99

Blinn honors graduates with pinning ceremony

CONTRIBUTED REPORT The Blinn College District recently recognized its Surgical Technology Program Class of 2022 with a pinning ceremony commemorating their ability to serve as valuable surgical team members and dedicated patient advocates. Graduates received their pins after successfully completing a rigorous two-year program that includes lecture and laboratory classes as well as clinical observation and operating room experience.

Serving the community is no game Since 2017, with the help of many generous donors within the community, especially the Mark Chapman Foundation and the Selman Charitable Trust, Greater Sealy Little League volunteers are proud to have managed and paid for a near complete renovation of the park. The renovations began with covered, lighted batting cages.
