In the June 16 edition of The Sealy News there was a photo of the Humdingers performing in Levine Park, and the Rotary Club wants to clarify that they only supported the event and want the Humdingers to get the credit for giving back to the community. There are no plans for future similar events at this time.

The City of Sealy Health Inspector has inspected the following establishments for food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and sanitary conditions. JUNE 15 Tiger Mart, 105 Meyer St.: No thermometers in coolers; coke machine nozzles needed to be cleaned.

Sealy farmers market

Kenny Brown, of Southland Farms in Sealy, sells some fresh produce to Ruth Heiser, who works at the Twisted Willow, at the first of Sealy’s third Saturday farmers markets which was held in the Main Street district on June 18. Brown said many of his customers throughout the day were from the Katy area and beyond. Babette Smith, organizer of the event and owner of Patches, said she anticipates even more booths will participate in future events. RAE DRADY

New businesses coming to Wallis’ historic downtown

Two of the historical buildings in downtown were among the agenda items discussed by the Wallis City Council June 15. The building located at 6423 Commerce Street is currently being renovated and will become the catering kitchen for an empanada food truck company. The stand-alone building at 6503 Commerce Street will be turned into an event venue.
