Holiday Hold'em — multi-county online Holiday Wellness Program to begin Nov. 20

Would you like to maintain or even lose weight this holiday season? A Multi-County Community Wellness program, Holiday Hold’em will begin soon, states Michelle Wright, Distinguished Extension Agent Family & Community Health. This free online challenge is designed to encourage participants to gain no more than two pounds during the holiday season.

AUSTIN COUNTY INDICTMENT REPORT OCT. 18 The Austin County Grand Jury returned indictments against eleven people in the Oct 18 session. Those indicted include: Danielle Cole Bauer for possession of a class 1 substance Shawn Glenn Brotherton for theft of property and possession of a class 1 substance Kadarrin Jaquan Brown for unauthorized use of a vehicle; theft of property over $2,500 but less than $30,000 Jose Ricardo Chavez for possession of a class 1 substance Megan Evans for possession of a class 1 substance Clarence Eugene Harris for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a class 1 substance Justin Wayne Krebs for theft of livestock under $150,000 Joel Isaac Saucedo for possession of a class 1 substance Andrew David Tavera for manufacture or delivery of a class 1 substance Deeago Dontrel Thomas for deadly conduct/ discharging a firearm Sterling Thompson III for manufacture or delivery of a class 2 subtsance

Her widely recognized accomplishments and generosity have earned her a Distinguished Alumni Award from her alma mater.

What is clutter?

EEA (Extension Education Association) of Austin County, which is a direct part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, hosted an educational presentation that targeted how to deal with clutter around the house. The presentation was co-taught by Bleiblerville EEA members Joan Buenger and Judy Schulz. The informative presentation described numerous ways to mentally process, clear, organize, and start the decluttering process. In addition, the ladies clearly communicated how to deal with hard decision items such as family heirlooms, pictures, guns, and gifts. For a good cause

For the second year in a row and the ninth year overall, the Austin County community showed up during the annual Bras for a Cause event and surpassed last year’s record-breaking totals. Early numbers show the event raised more than $22,000 to help support research to eradicate breast cancer, surpassing last year’s figures.
