The annual Czech-German Heritage Program at Sealy Junior High will be held on Friday, Oct. 19 at 1:15 p.m. at the school’s auditorium. The public is invited. This is the sixth year the program has been presented to seventh grade Texas history and fourth grade Texas social studies students. The two grades are included due to the nature of the information about Czech and German immigrants that settled in Texas, and in particular, the Austin County and surrounding area, beginning as early as Stephen F. Austin’s “Old 300.” The students of these two grades benefit because this program connects to their required curriculum. There will be Czech and German music, history, culture, and dance, with performers and presenters young and veteran.
