Deadline to enter Little Miss, Little Mr. pageants is Friday The Austin County Fair Association announced that candidates may register for the Little Miss and Little Mister Contests, the Junior Miss and Junior Mister Contests and the Junior Fair Queen Contest until Sept. 19. The competition will take place on Oct. 8 at the Austin County Fair Convention and Expo Center. The following guidelines have been set: Participants must be a resident and/or attend school in Austin County. They will be judged 90 percent on personality and an interview on stage and 10 percent on attire. Contestants will dress in western attire. A winner and four alternates will be named in each category. The winners must be available to ride in the Austin County Fair Parade on Oct. 9 and will be introduced during the Fair Queen Contest that evening. There will be an entry of $30 per contestant. The entry form, fees and picture (for newspapers) must be turned into the fair office by Sept. 19. In addition, there will be an optional photogenic contest for each category. Contestants must submit an additional photo plus $5 with their entry fee. Anyone interested in competing should contact the fair office at (979) 865-5995. |
