Sealy FFA Horse team makes debut in Katy

The Sealy FFA Horse team made its 2024 debut at the Katy Taylor-Jordan CDE.

Greenhand Ella Curtis placed 21st out of over 500 contestants, leading the team.

Team members joining Ella were Callie Whatley, Avery Balensiefer and Sadie Yentzen.

The Horse team competed in their 2nd contest at HLSR against over 200 teams.

Avery Balensiefer led the team of Ella, Callie and Sadie.

Bellville FFA tractor team third in state

Body

The Bellville FFA tractor tech team placed 3rd at the STATE contest.

All three boys were in the top 10 individually, with Chaise Richter placing 5th, Donnie Smart placing 6th and Chase Hardin placing 7th.

This contest has three parts. First contestants must take a written exam and complete a components section to advance to the floor.

Only the top 10 teams make it to the floor to work on the tractor to find 5 bugs hidden inside the tractor.

This is the 14th year that Rural Lifestyle Dealer has recognized equipment dealerships for outstanding financial performance and innovative strategies in serving hobby farmers, large property owners, landscapers and light equipment contractors.

Brazos BUDS shine at HLS&R

Brazos B.U.D.S. had a long week at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. The group had students compete in Texas Tables, Rodeo Cup and Container Plants. The highlight of the day was Sophia Vykukal with Reserve Champion Rodeo Cup.Texas Tables: Sophia Vykukal, Rylea Roecker, Trinity Melnar. Sealy FFA wraps up successful trip to SA Expo

The Sealy FFA wrapped up the San Antonio Livestock Expo by competing in one of the largest livestock judging contests in the state with over 1,300 contestants. The Sealy Jr FFA Gold Team was crowned the SA Champion Junior Team. Led by Atalie Petrash 2nd high individual, Ainsley Oliver 4th high individual, Jackson Volking and Hunter Hinze.

Hard works pays off at HLS&R

Body

Last week was the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Nursery/Landscape and Floriculture Judging Contests.

The Landscape team was the Grand Champion Team.

Layne Malinowski was the 3rd high individual, Levi Malinowski was the 5th high individual, Matthew Wybro was the 6th high individual, and James Haisler was the 18th high individual.

The Floriculture team was the 3rd High Place Team out of 93 teams today.
